Vintage Watches

Georges Ducornmun started his workshops in 1889, he was mostly working on making pocket watches. At the beginning of the twentieth century, the high standard of Ducornmun timepieces earned him multiple awards and medals, particularly in Liege in 1905 as well as in Milan the year after. In 1908 he received a patent for an eight-day movement.

In 1910, the by now thriving Georges Ducornmun registered the trade-name Doxa for all his time-keeping products. In the begin of the Twenties, Doxa portfolio included Wristwatches with movement calibers which range from 8¾ to 13 lignes and also instrument-panel clocks for automobiles and airplanes were included on the collection. In the course of the subsequent years the Doxa range grown intensively manufacturing ring-watches, women's jewelry watches, railway and travel-clocks and also fashion timepieces.

A round-dialed wristwatch that has a hand showing the date. was release in 1944. Wristwatches with jumping seconds were among Doxa's watches in the 1950s. With the most startling watch design the 1958 Doxa "Grafic" was the bold new look that anticipated the shape and fashion of watches to come.

The "Sub 300" diver's watch, released in 1967, was water-resistant to a depth of 300 meters. By combining originality and distinction a Doxa vintage watch make the perfect timepiece.
