IWC Watches
The history of IWC began in the year 1868 when American Florentine Ariosto Jones, until then director of the watch factory F. Howard & Cie in Boston, founded the International Watch Company IWC in Schaffhausen Switzzerland. Jones was not only a successful entrepreneur, but also a talented watch designer.
He created a fine mechanical movement with some remarkable characteristics for his IWC pocket watches like: a Breguet balance spring bent by hand, a temperature-compensating bimetallic balance, a three-quarter plate, and the long index he used for fine adjustments of the movement.It is exactly these characteristics that features the new IWC FA Jones Portuguese model, a wristwatch with a pocket watch movement in a Portuguese case.
The new IWC FA Jones Portuguese reached the market in a limited edition: 500 in platinum price $31,500, 1000 in rose gold, and 3000 in stainless steel price $9,900.
