The Benrus Watch Company was founded in New York City in 1921 by Benjamin, Ralph, and Oscar Lazrus. The name BENRUS was a combination of Benjamin Lazrus first and last names.
The company produced memorable watches like the Embraceable watch and the Benrus Citation. Benrus Watches from the Retro-Modern period are very collectible today.
By the beginning of the 1950s, Benrus was the 3rd largest watch producer in the US, second to Bulova, and Hamilton Watch. Benrus had strong reputation for making quality timepieces.

The Benrus Watch Company was one of the watch manufacturing companies of this era. This company was founded in New York in 1921 by three brothers – Oscar, Benjamin and Ralph Lazrus.
